Known for its stunning beauty with giant cypress trees and rugged limestone, Hunt, Texas sits at the confluence of the North and South Forks of the Guadalupe River, twelve miles west of Kerrville in central Kerr County.
The Hunt, Texas area was settled in the late 1850s by people moving west from Kerrville up the Guadalupe River valley, searching for available farm and ranch land. Since the 1920s, Hunt has served as the center of one of the most popular Hill Country resort areas. Most of Kerr County's guest ranches and summer camps are located within a few miles of the town. In addition, many vacation and retirement homes line the river.
